We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Technical Writer for our Toronto, Ontario location. The Technical Writer works with all departments and clients to prepare owner manuals, instruction manuals, journal articles, and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information more easily. The Technical Writer also develops, gathers, and disseminates technical information among customers, designers, and partners.

Responsibilities

Creation, updating and maintaining corporate documentation such as, but not limited to: User, Operating, Calibration, Troubleshooting, Install, Repair, Procedure, Development, and Report documents.

Ensure deadlines are met through collaboration with technical services, engineering and other departments requiring documentation services.

Assist in the creation and input to company websites and social-media channels.

Liaise with other departments for technical assistance with documentation.

Research and communicate new industry developments.

Winning Profile

1-3 years experience in a similar role.

A journalism, English, communications or technical-writing college diploma or university degree.

Experience with a specialized field such as engineering, computer science, technology or medicine.

Experience communicating with a variety of teams including production, engineering, research and development, sales, and senior management.

Experience with the business requirement development/documentation process.

Experience using photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, charts and other interactive technologies to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video to enhance communications.

Experience with the web development/design process.

Experience with government grant approval process.
